Americo 'Andy' DiZazzo, 89


North Andover — Americo “Andy” R. DiZazzo, 89, of North Andover formerly of Methuen, passed away peacefully Sunday June 9, at the Prescott House in North Andover. Andy was born in Lawrence, and was the son of the late Rocco and Lena (Nardone) DiZazzo. Andy was educated in Lawrence and was a graduate of Lawrence High School. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the U. S. Navy and served during World War II.

Andy worked as a night club manager in various clubs in the Lawrence area over the years He enjoyed ballroom dancing and teaching his nieces and nephews how to play the card game of 45s. He was a longtime member of the I.A.C.A., and in his later years, he enjoyed spending his winter months in Florida.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff at Prescott House for their wonderful, loving care of Andy for the last four years.

Andy is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Lisa and Warren Greathead of Methuen; his grandchildren, Benjamin and Nicole Greathead of Methuen; his sister, Dora DiZazzo of Methuen; his brother, Domenic DiZazzo of Florida; and several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Andy was predeceased by his sisters, Petrina Cirincione and Emily DiZazzo, and his, brother Joseph Dizazzo.

ARRANGEMENTS: By the request of the family, funeral services will be private and there will be no visiting hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Resident Council Fund at Prescott House, 140 Prescott St., No. Andover, MA 01843 or to Corpus Christi Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 35 Essex St., Lawrence, Ma 01840.
