Haverhill, MA — Velma Katherine (Parker) Taylor, age 81, formerly of Epping, NH, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2014, at Wingate at Haverhill.
She was born on July 17, 1932, in Lawrence, MA, the daughter of the late Arthur J. and Eleanor M. (Mercier) Parker. She was raised in Lawrence and attended Lawrence schools.
Velma worked for over 15 years as an investigator for Victor Service Bureau in Lawrence, MA.
She enjoyed camping and spending time with her family. She and her husband were active in Scouting. She also enjoyed playing cards and board games with her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends, but will always be remembered for her vast Teddy Bear collection.
Velma is survived by her husband of 62 years, Harry E. Taylor Sr. of Plaistow, NH; his daughters, Maryellen Pelletier and husband, Rick, of Plaistow, NH, Robin E. Dame of Londonderry, NH and B. Jill Senter and husband, Bucky, of Plaistow, NH; her sons, Harry E. Taylor Jr. and wife, Janice, of Haverhill, MA and Arthur H. Taylor and wife, Gillian, of Hawaii; her brothers, Arthur Parker of Fayetteville, NC and James J. Parker of Lawrence, MA; her sister, Helen Flanders of Bradenton, FL; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 1 niece and several cousins also survive her. Velma was predeceased by her sister, Shirley Parker.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, April 6, 2014, from 5 to 7 p.m. and Monday, April 7, 2014, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., (Route 121A), Plaistow, NH 03865. Funeral Services will take place on Monday, April 7, 2014, at 11:15 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date.
