North Andover — Francis M. Taylor, 83, of North Andover, passed away peacefully Wednesday at his residence.
Francis was born in Massachusetts on February 16, 1931, and raised in Manchester and graduated from Manchester High School and was a graduate of Boston University School of Engineering.
He served in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Japan and the Philippines.
Francis was employed at RCA Aerospace and then at GE Aerospace until his retirement. After retirement he was employed part time with Chem-Lawn.
He was a faithful communicant of St. Michael’s Church in North Andover for the last fifty years. Francis was a lover of the beach, baseball and golf and was an avid amateur photographer.
Francis, the widow of the late Audrey (Stuart) Taylor who died in April of 2013, was also predeceased by his son, David R. Heggarty, both of North Andover.
He is survived by his two sons, Ronald A. Heggarty and his wife, Ruth, of Lawrence and Michael F. Taylor of North Andover. Francis is also survived by his grandchildren, Samantha, Danna and Bridget Heggarty and his great-grandson, Lincoln, all of Lawrence. Also among his survivors are his sister, Shirley Beaudet of Buffalo, NY and his three nephews, Walter, Richard and Douglas Beaudet.
A funeral service will be offered at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 7, 2014, at the Conte Funeral Home, 17 Third St., North Andover. Burial will follow in Ridgewood Cemetery in North Andover.
Family and friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
