Lynn — Vera (Grassi) Sanviti, age 90, of Lynn, died Monday, October 1, following a lengthy illness. She was daughter to the late Oreste and Angelina (Mori) Grassi of Haverhill. She leaves her loving husband, Alfred J. Sanviti, with whom she shared nearly 65 years of marriage.

Born and raised in Haverhill, Vera was a member of Haverhill High’s 1940 graduating class and was a 1942 graduate of the Kathleen Dell Secretarial School in Boston. She was the school secretary at the former Christ Child Nursery in Lynn, until her retirement in 1986 after 17 years of service, making dear friends along the way.

A Lynn resident since marriage, Vera was a communicant of St. Pius V Parish. She relished time spent with family, neighbors and friends at her home of more than 50 years. She was a warm and inviting hostess, talented cook, self-taught flower arranger and avid Red Sox fan. Vera was a lifelong reader, interested in everything from literature and modern fiction to topical news, including the Boston Globe sports pages. She maintained a keen mind and was always happy to engage in spirited conversation, especially with her beloved grandchildren. A perfect day for Vera would end by sitting next to Fred in their sun room, watching the sun set over the water.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her loving sisters, Irma Pasquale of Haverhill and Elsa Basso of Atkinson, N.H. and by her four devoted children, Mark Sanviti and his wife Marie of Gloucester, Joan Fuller and her husband Tom of Hollis, N.H., Carol Masciarelli and her husband Arthur of Scituate and Jeanne Masher and her husband David of Rowley; five grandchildren, Mark and Matthew Fuller, Gina and Andrea Masciarelli and Andrew Masher; step grandchildren, Jason Parisi, his wife Marie and their daughters Caitlyn and Lindsey, and David Parisi, his wife Dawn and their daughters Samantha and Mya. She also leaves a large and loving extended family including many nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral will be held from the Solimine, Landergan & Richardson Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Rt129) Lynn on Friday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Pius V Church, Lynn at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Georgetown, MA — Edgar Norton Johnson, 81, of Georgetown, Mass., passed away peacefully at his home with his beloved wife and family by his side on June 17, 2013. Ted wrote in a journal years ago, "Although I am a religious man, I have found my heaven here on earth with my wife and family." All of his family and friends felt the same way about life with Ted. He first fell in love with his wife, Faith when he saw her dancing in a class at Tufts University, and for the next 60 years cherished his marriage to the most beautiful woman he ever saw.

The daughter of the late Liberato and Lucia (Berardini) Grassi, she was born on March 29, 1922, and was educated in the Haverhill School System. A member of the Haverhill High School Class of 1941, she attended the Fasio Beauty School and was a beautician in the Haverhill area for over 40 years. Her most recent employment was with her dear friend, Mary Pauline Wyka at Andrea’s Beauty Salon in Plaistow.

Parmelia 'Pat' Stoughton Willard de Winter, 80

Boxford — Parmelia "Pat" Stoughton Willard de Winter passed away June 15, at Brigham and Women’s Hospital after a short illness. Born in Hartford, Conn., on November 23, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Howard A. Willard and Virginia McCray Miller Willard. Pat, or Patsy as she was known then, was raised in Wethersfield and West Hartford. She was predeceased by her twin brother, Palmer Southworth Willard, her youngest brother William Leslie Willard and her older brother, John Bleveny Willard.

Atkinson, NH — Peter T. Giuvelis, 89, of Atkinson, N.H., passed away on Monday, June 17, at Salemhaven, in Salem, N.H. He was born in Lowell on September 15, 1923, to the late Theodore and Virginia (Melonas) Tzouvelis. Peter was raised and educated in Haverhill, graduating from Haverhill High School. Upon graduating, he served in the U.S. Army during WW II. After serving in the military, Peter co-owned and worked as a technician for Guvelis Bros., located on Emerson St. in Haverhill. In retirement, Peter served as school crossing guard at Walnut Square School in Haverhill.

She enjoyed working with the elderly and any activity that would involve her family, which included going out for dinner, shopping, and spending time with the grandchildren. Her surviving family members include her loving children, Lisa O'Keefe and husband, Christopher of Raymond, N.H., Jennifer Pardoen and husband, David of Methuen, Mass.; and grandchildren, Abbey and Zoe, Pardoen and Zachary and Madison Laliberte. She leaves behind brothers, Luis Perrino and wife, Linda of Peabody, Mass., and Earle Perrino of New Hampshire. Debby also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

Irene Golden, 86

Groveland, MA — Irene (Belanger) Golden, 86, of Groveland, formerly of Lawrence and North Andover, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 15, at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill. Born in Lawrence, she was the daughter of the late Emile and Leda (Matton) Belanger, and was one of nine children. Irene was a graduate of the former McIntosh Business School in Lawrence, and later was employed by the Textile Workers Union CIO for 10 years, prior to staying home to raise her family. Upon returning to the business world, she was employed as the administrative assistant to the president of the former Arlington Trust Company in Lawrence. She retired in 1987, after 26 years of service, and spent her later years making quilts for her family, friends and homeless shelters.

Joseph was born in Brazil and raised in Newark, N.J., after his family emigrated from Portugal. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was an engineer with Raytheon Service Co., and upon retiring in his 70s, he enjoyed gardening, yard and barn work at the house, reading, PBS programming, classical music, art, politics, history, and sports. In recent years, he was a resident of the Osher Inn of Portland, Maine.
