Lawrence, MA — Muriel S. Caron, 87, longtime Lawrence resident, died on Sunday, September 1, at Lawrence General Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph F. Caron, with whom she shared 54 years of marriage.
Muriel was born in Methuen on September 13, 1925, and was a daughter of the late Wilfred and Lumina (Oulette) Poulin. She was a graduate of Methuen High School, Class of 1943, and afterward, served the war effort by attending nursing school during WWII.
Muriel dedicated the rest of her life to caring for her family. She was the ultimate survivor, having beaten breast cancer, and the painful loss of burying her husband and both of her sons. She continued on, driven by her deep trust in God.
"Nana's" greatest pride and joy were her grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, who spent time with her often. She enjoyed playing games, going for rides and having long conversations.
She was a parishioner of St. Monica's in Methuen and devoted to the rosary.
Muriel is survived by her three grandchildren, Christine Lemieux and her husband, Al, of Pelham, N.H., Renee Caron of North Andover, and Kevin Caron Jr. of Salem, N.H.; eight great-grandchildren, Sarah, Meghan, Joshua, Elijah, James, Madeleine, Bethany, and David Lemieux, and Issac Caron; and her devoted caretakers, Odalis, Priscilla, Iris, and Myriam.
In addition to her husband, Joseph, she was predeceased by her sons, Paul Caron and Kevin Caron Sr.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, September 5, at 10 a.m,. in the Catholic Church of the the Holy Trinity, Lowell.
