Methuen, MA — James L. Gearin, 66, of Methuen, died August 25, 2013, in Methuen.
The son of the late Nicholas Austin and Lottie (Thomas) Gearin, Jim was born in Methuen on January 29, 1947. He was educated in Methuen, and was a lifelong Methuen resident. Prior to his retirement, he was a landscaper. Jim was very proud of his extensive record collection. He loved to read history—especiallly history about Methuen, listen to his police scanner, and spend time visiting with friends at his home at Mystic Apts. Jim also enjoyed telling stories about his beloved bird, Samantha.
Jim is survived by brothers, Edward Gearin of Orange Park, Fla., Leon Gearin and Robert Gearin and his wife, Josephine, all of Methuen; a sister, Shirley Desharnis of Methuen; a brother-in-law, Ted Hebert of The Villages, Fla. Jim is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Jim was predeceased by his sisters, Barbara Loeschen and Donna Hebert.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to a graveside service at the family lot in the Bellevue Cemetery, Lawrence, on Saturday, September 7, 2013, at 2:00 p.m.
