Haverhill, formerly of Methuen — Giuseppina (Rinella) Polizzotti, 85, of Haverhill, formerly of Methuen, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family which shared in her last hours before entering Eternal Life in Heaven with Our Lord God, last Sunday, September 1, 2013, at Penacook Place in Haverhill. She was born in Termini Imerese, Sicily Italy on June 16, 1928, and was the youngest daughter to the late and dearly beloved Mr. and Mrs. Agostino and Rosina (Pace) Rinella.
Mrs. Polizzotti was raised and educated in Termini Imerese Sicily Italy, married her beloved husband, Serafino, on December 14, 1959. In 1960, they left their family in Italy and arrived in the United States. Serafino and Guiseppina settled in Pittsburg, Pa., at her beloved sister Rosina and son John Graviano, and dearest brother Guseppi and his wife Maria’s home. Settled in and enjoying the birth of their son, Anthony, in 1961. In 1963, they moved to Lawrence, Mass., and started their life as a new rising Immigrant family. Giuseppina cared for her family in this new world, making sure that her family was well cared for at home, while her beloved husband, Serafino, grasped the American dream. While living in Lawrence and then Methuen, and raising her family, she went to work as a seamstress and used the profession she knew well for Grieco Brothers Clothing, where she retired from in 1994. After her retirement she enjoyed her grandchildren, family and friends. Guisseppina enjoyed traveling with her husband, visiting their friends and family. She was a parishioner of Corpus Christi Parish at Holy Rosary Church and a member of St. Rita’s Sodality.
She was the adoring wife of the late Mr. Serafino Polizzotti and is survived by her son, Anthony and his wife, Maria, of Salem, N.H.; grandchildren, Michael A. and Christopher R. Polizzotti of Salem, N.H.; brother, Mr. and Mrs. Guseppi and Maria Rinella of Methuen; predeceased sisters, Mrs. Rosina Graviano of Methuen and sisters, Mrs. Maria Lococo and Mrs. Gina Cala of Italy. She also leaves several nieces and nephews, Mr. and Mrs. John and Enza with daugther, Rosanna Graviano, of Methuen, Mr. and Mrs. Cettina and George Fretias and family of Salem, N.H., Mr. and Mrs. Agostino and Angela Rinella and their children, Joseph, Nicholas and Joshua Rinella, all of Salem, N.H., Mr. Emanuel Quadros and Pam Cook and family of Lawrence, Mass., and Erica Quadros of North Hadley, Mass.; sister-in-law, Mrs. Gina Frittitta of Methuen; nephews, Mr. and Mrs. Gietano and Gianna Frittitta and family of Windham, N.H., Mr. and Mrs. Pio and Grace Frittitta and family of Salem, N.H., and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph and Joanne Cuomo and family of Salem, N.H.; along with many more nieces and nephews and extended family members.
The Polizotti family would like to express to Haverhill Hospice and Penacook Place Nursing Home of Haverhill, Mass., special heart filled thanks for all their support and the immense acts of kindness and monumental professional care the staff provided to a strong, brave woman, "My Mother" Giuseppina Rinella Polizzotti. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2013, at Corpus Christi Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 35 Essex St., Lawrence.
