Andover, MA. — John Meyer, 85, of Andover, and formerly of Dracut, passed away on September 13, 2013, at the Blair House in Tewksbury. John was born in Exeter, N.H., to the late Carl A. and Jenny (Krieger) Meyer. John was a mechanic for many years at Allen's Truck Stop in Amesbury, as well as Trombley's Motorcoach in Methuen. He also worked at The Pacific Mills in Lawrence.
John served his country proudly with the U.S. Navy, having been stationed during WW II on the LST 747 in the Phillipines. John was an avid NASCAR fan and was also a member of the Studebaker Driving Club.
John was the beloved husband of Lorri A. (Strait) Meyer of Andover; father of Karen M. Meyer and her husband, Joseph, of Lowell; grandfather of Richard Concheri Jr., Jayson Meyer and Matthew Hanlon; brother of Carl Meyer Jr. and his wife, Dorothea, of Hingham, William Meyer of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Elizabeth of Verdi, Nev. John was predeceased by his children, John R. Meyer and Elizabeth T. Concheri, and his sister, Natalie Drelick.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend his Funeral Service on Thursday, September 19, at 11 a.m., in the Conte Funeral Home, 28 Florence Street, Andover. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery, Andover. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, from 4 to 8 p.m., in the funeral home.
