Elizabeth J. (Villaire) Gallant, 88

Zephyrhills, FL — Elizabeth J. (Villaire) Gallant, 88, of Zephyrhills, Fla., and former resident of Haverhill, Mass., and Plaistow, N.H., died on November 12, 2013, at the Gulfside Center for Hospice Care in Zephyrhills.

Born, raised and educated in Haverhill, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Ellen T. (Smith) Villaire. She attended Bradford Grammar School and graduated from Haverhill High School, Class of 1943. She went on to attend MacIntosh Business School in Haverhill.

Mrs. Gallant worked as a bookkeeper for local manufacturing corporations, including Telemarks in Plaistow. She was also employed by Haverhill National Bank, Belle Vista Restaurant, the Enterprise, and J.M. Fields. She was a member of Holy Angels Church of St. Luke the Evangelist Parish, the American Legion Auxiliary, the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Carl G. Davis Post of the American Legion, Plaistow, and D.A.V. Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband, George J. Gallant; her son, Donald E. Gallant and his wife, Frances, of Plaistow; two daughters, Jane E. Roberts and her husband, John, of North Reading, Mass., and Nancy E. Gallant of Waltham, Mass.; three grandchildren, Michael Gallant, Louis Roberts and Adam Roberts; and several nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday, November 19, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., at Brookside Chapel and Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Route 121A, Plaistow, N.H. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, at 9 a.m., from the funeral home, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Holy Angels Church, Plaistow. Burial will follow in Holy Angels Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Gulfside Regional Hospice, 6117 Troublecreek Road, New Port Rickey, FL 34653.
