Williston, FL — Arthur V. Gelardi, 85, passed on September 21, 2013. A graduate of Lawrence High School, Class of 1943, he served in the U.S. Navy, and later earned his Bachelor of Science degree at Boston University in 1952. He also held a master's degree from Salem State College. Arthur worked in the advertising department of Jordan Marsh, now Macy's, in Boston. He later worked as advertising manager at A.B. Sutherland Co. of Lawrence, later joining Elliott Flooring Stores of N.E., in Salem, NH. In 1973, he founded ADServices Unlimited in Andover, Mass., where his agency serviced many nationally known furniture manufacturers, as well as greater-area retail clients. Arthur was predeceased by his beloved wife and business partner, Jean (Biancucci) Gelardi.
Arthur is survived by his son, Wayne Gelardi and his wife, Vicki, of Salem, N.H.; grandson, Daniel Gelardi of Salem; son, Mark Gelardi and his wife, Mary, of Williston, Fla.; grandsons, Mark D. Gelardi Jr. of Newton, Mass., and Matthew Gelardi of Stoddard, N.H.; granddaughter, Melinda (Gelardi) Zimmerman and her husband, Brian, of Suffolk, Va.; sister, Elvera (Gelardi) Rongone, Hollywood, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Alexander and Avery Zimmerman, and Chiara Gelardi; nephew, Michael Gelardi of Newburyport, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews.
Arthur’s wishes were for a quiet cremation ceremony in Williston.
