Lawrence — Gwendolyn M. Howard, 49, of Lawrence, formerly of Marshfield, died at Tufts New England Medical Center on Monday, November 18.
Known as both Gwen and Wendy by friends, Ms. Howard was born in Norwood on October 6, 1964, and moved to Marshfield in 1975. She was a graduate of Marshfield High Class of 1982 and enjoyed roller skating and spending time with family and friends. As a resident of Lawrence, she was involved in youth football and cheer.
Ms. Howard worked 27 years, for the telephone company, from New England Telephone, to NYNEX, to Bell Atlantic to Verizon. She began as a clerk and ended in the equipment installation department.
She was the daughter of the late Charles and Margaret Howard. She is survived by her fiancé, Michael J. Standel and her children, Zachary Caudill and Margaret Caudill. She was also the sister of Pamela Quimby-Montanino, Cynthia McMurdie, Stuart Howard, Brian Howard, the late Charles Howard and Richard Howard; and aunt of 16 nieces and nephews.
She will be very much missed by her family and friends, especially her smile.
ARRANGEMENTS: Graveside services will be at the Children of Abraham Cemetery, Grant Road, (off Mount Vernon St.), Lawrence on Friday, November 22, at 2:30 p.m. The family will greet attendees for 45 minutes prior to the service.
