Haverhill, MA — Claire M. (Morin) Riley, 86, a lifelong resident of Haverhill, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2014, at Wingate Nursing Home in Haverhill.
Born, raised and educated in Haverhill, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Aurore (Lagasse) Morin. She attended St. Joseph’s School, and graduated from Haverhill High School.
Mrs. Riley worked as a sales clerk at Mitchell’s Department Store on Merrimack Street in Haverhill for many years. She also worked for the Haverhill School Department’s Lunch Program at the Hannah Duston School.
A member of All Saints Parish and the former St. Joseph’s Parish, she was a member of the St. Joseph’s bowling league.
She was predeceased by her husband, John A. “Jack” Riley Jr., and is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, John A. Riley III and his wife, Debra, of Hubbardston, and William A. Riley and his wife, Barbara, of Haverhill; four grandchildren, John A. Riley IV, Shannon M. (Riley) Doner, Meghan F. Riley, and Angela H. Riley; two great-grandchildren, Jordan and Cameron; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Arthur and Raymond Morin.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Friday, January 7, at 11 a.m., at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill. Burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 85 Astor Avenue #2, Norwood, MA 02062.
