Methuen — Nicholas S. Guerrera, 74, of Methuen, passed away Thursday, February 6, at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House surrounded by his loving family. Born in Lawrence, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Rita (Zazzo) Guerrera.
Mr. Guerrera was raised in Lawrence and was a graduate of Lawrence High School. He played baseball in the first organized little league in Lawrence and had the highest batting average in the city. He was a barber and owned and operated Tower Hill Barber Shop in Lawrence for 44 years.
Nick was an avid golfer and a member of Merrimack Valley Golf Club. He loved spending time with his golf buddies. He was a lifetime Red Sox fan. He enjoyed his winter trips to Florida and loved family gatherings.
He was predeceased by his sister, Grayce Wasson and his stepfather, Joseph Pappalardo.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Virginia (Condurelli) Guerrera; his son, Nicholas Guerrera and his wife, Susan, of North Andover; his daughter, Linda Guerrera and her husband, Henry Tejada, of Methuen; his sister, Constance Napolitano and her husband, Frank, of Lawrence and his grandchildren, Matthew and Ernest Guerrera and Graciela Tejada. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, February 9, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 10, at Corpus Christi Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 35 Essex St., Lawrence.
