METHUEN — Mario Peluso, 89, of Methuen, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2012 at the Woodmill Nursing Home in Lawrence.
He was born in Lawrence and was the son of the late Gaetano and Angelina (Vitale) Peluso. Mr. Peluso was a graduate of Lawrence High School and had lived in Methuen for the greater part of life. He owned and operated Mario's Barber Shop and worked in the Methuen and Lawrence area as a barber.
He was Commissioner of Barbers for the State of Massachusetts and had also worked as a Court Officer for the Massachusetts District Court. He was also a U.S. Navy veteran and served during W.W.II.
Mr. Peluso was the beloved husband of the late Jeanette M. (Lahey) Peluso, father of the late Robert Peluso, and brother of the late Peter Peluso, Josephine Silva and Jennie Tripoli. He is survived by a brother George Peluso and his wife Theresa of Haverhill, a grandson Robert Peluso and his wife Jeannine of Methuen. He is also survived by great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, January 21, 2012 from 9:00 - 10:30 AM at the Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:30 AM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be private at Bellevue Cemetery, Lawrence.
