Ignatius J. "Russ" Russo, 98


Lawrence — Ignatius J. “Russ” Russo 98 of Lawrence passed away Friday, December 21, 2012 at his home. He was born in Lawrence and was the son of the late Angelo and Sebastiana “Nellie”(Nicolosi) Russo.

Mr. Russo was a graduate of Lawrence High School and continued his education at Berkeley Prep School in Boston. He later went to Lowell Tech for his Associates Degree and attended Chicago Instrument Aircraft School where he received his diploma for aircraft instruments.

Mr. Russo worked as an aircraft instrument engineer for Delta Airlines for 40 years and retired at the age of 58. He later worked in research at Sanders Associates in Nashua, NH. After his retirement Mr. Russo and his wife traveled throughout the world. He enjoyed vegetable gardening and photography. Mr. Russo attended St. Lucy’s Church in Methuen and Corpus Christi Parish at Holy Rosary Church in Lawrence.

Mr. Russo was pre deceased by his beloved wife Constance (Rizzo) Russo and his sister Grace M. Pellegrino. He is survived by his nephews Robert Pellegrino and his wife Annmarie and Timothy Pellegrino and his wife Irene and his niece Carol Baker and the late Arthur Baker, Jr. He is also survived by many grandnieces and grandnephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Cataudella Funeral Home 126 Pleasant Valley St. Methuen. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at St. Lucy’s Church 254 Merrimack St. Methuen. Entombment will be in St. Mary’s Mausoleum, Lawrence.
