Ethel E. Lemuth, 76

Rindge, NH and formerly of Groveland — Ethel E. (Wheeler) Lemuth, 76, of Rindge, NH and former Groveland resident, died unexpectedly on Saturday, December 29, at her residence.

She was born in Kingston, NY, September 3, 1936, daughter of the late Lawrence and Lillian (McCabe) Wheeler. Educated in the Queens primary school, Mrs. Lemuth graduated from Forest Hills High School, class of 1954. She attended Northern Essex Community College, and served in the United States Navy. A longtime Groveland resident, Mrs. Lemuth was a member of Groveland Congregational Church, a Girl Scout Leader for Troop 446, Boy Scout Troop 87 both of Groveland. Since moving to Rindge she was an active member of Jaffrey Bible Church and the Rindge Women’s Club where she shared her love of quilting, gardening, crafts and painting.

She was the wife of the late Carl F. Lemuth, who died in 2004, she is survived by her daughter, Kathryn L. Cartier and her husband Paul of Rindge, NH, two sons, Joseph Griffin and his wife Chris of Holden, MA, Stephen J. Lemuth and his wife Jane of Newburyport, MA, five grandchildren: David Cartier, Diane (Cartier) and her husband Jon Downing, Lisa (Cartier) Papastefanou and her husband David, Ashley (Griffin) and her husband Evan Janes, Alex Griffin, and four great-grandchildren: Jameson, Trinity and Emilly Downing, and Vincent Papastefanou.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Memorial Service on Monday evening, January 7, at 6:15 at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. a visitation period will precede the Memorial service on Monday from 5 to 6 at the Funeral Home. Burial will be private in Riverview Cemetery, Groveland. A memorial service will also be held at Jaffrey Bible Church 133 Turnpike Rd Jaffrey, NH on Tuesday evening, January 8, at 6pm.
