West Newbury — Philip T. Cullen, Jr., 53, of West Newbury and formerly of North Reading, passed away, Tuesday, January 8, 2013, after an extended illness.
Philip was born in Winchester, on March 16, 1959. He was raised in North Reading and graduated from North Reading High School in 1977 and Bates College in Lewiston, Maine in 1981. His many hobbies included a love of the outdoors, and he achieved Scouting’s highest rank of Eagle Scout.
Philip is survived by his parents, Philip T., Sr. and Mary C. (Leary) Cullen of North Reading; sister, Kathleen Kirks and her husband John Kirks of Andover; brother, Kevin Cullen of Stoneham; niece, Lacey Kirks and nephew Hayden Kirks. He is also survived by favorite uncle, Daniel Leary and dear friends, Alfred Cilcius and his wife, Lora and Dawn Horne. Philip leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will miss him very much.

ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral will be held from the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading, on Monday, January 14 at 9:30 AM, followed by an 11 AM funeral Mass at St. Theresa’s Church, 63 Winter Street (Rt. 62) North Reading. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, January 13, from 1 to 3:30 PM. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
