Wethersfield, Conn. — Donald Franklin Martin, 76, of Wethersfield, Conn., formerly of Coconut Creek, Fla. and Lawrence, passed away, Saturday, January 12, 2013, at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford, Conn. surrounded by his family. Born in Lawrence on October 11, 1936, he was the son of the late George and Rose Martin.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. A lifetime member of the Elks Club #65 of Lawrence, a member of the American Legion Post #157 of Margate, Fla. and recently of Connecticut Post# 0200 of Rocky Hill, Conn. Well known for his glib sense of humor and his clever comedic one liners, he was always ready with a joke or witty remark.
He is survived by his son, Kevin and wife, Mary Ann of Middletown, Conn.; daughters, Dawn Marie of Lawrence, Karen and Lynne of North Andover, Monika of Boca Raton, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He is survived by two sisters, Leona Dubois and Eleanor Noyes of Derry, N.H.; sister, Ann Hmurciak of Andover. He was predeceased by sister, Theresa Thibodeau and Joan Daskell of Derry, N.H., as well as brothers, Daniel and Albert. Also Addie Perry, a dear friend and companion of many years in South Florida and her daughter, Lani.
