Methuen, MA — Anna T. (Dlugosz) Kostrewa, 84, of Methuen, MA passed away peacefully on February 3, 2013 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House.
She was the wife of the late William W. Kostrewa who passed in 1998. Born in 1928, Anna was educated in the Salem NH school system and later was employed for twenty-nine years as a cafeteria worker in the Methuen school system. She was affectionately known as the “Ice Cream Lady”. Anna was a communicant of St. Lucy parish in Methuen, she enjoyed gardening and spending time with family; especially with her grandson Keith, his wife Kristen and her great-grandson Landen Girardi.
Mrs. Kostrewa is survived by a daughter, Teri Girardi and her husband Charles of Atkinson, NH, son Bill Kostrewa of Methuen, a brother Daniel Dlugosz of Long Island and two sisters, Emily Jachunchuck of Salem, NH , Arlene Antolewicz of Haverhill and several nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late George and Aniela (Kosceilniak) Dlugosz.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are kindly invited to visitation on Tuesday evening from 4pm -7pm in the Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen, MA. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11am in St. Lucy Parish, Methuen, Burial in St. Mary Immaculate Conception cemetery.
