Florence G. Lee-Sperlish, 95


Haverhill — -Florence G. (Curtin) Lee-Sperlish, 95, of Haverhill passed away peacefully, November 14, 2012.

She was born in 1917, the daughter of the late, Jeremiah and Hannah (Bowen) Curtin of Charlestown. She attended Boston Public Schools and High School in Boston.

Florence was the wife of the late James E. Lee Sr. who died in 1951, with whom she had five children. Widowed at a young age life was not always easy, but Florence went on to work for the U.S. Government in Washington D.C. and became a world traveler. She spent five years living and working in Thailand, a place she truly loved and often spoke of, even in late years. She was reassigned to Europe and frequently traveled to many interesting parts of the world.

Florence was predeceased by her three sons; Robert E. Lee, who died in Vietnam in 1966; James E. Lee Jr., in 2008; and Richard H. Lee in 2010, and six siblings. Survivors include her daughters; Patricia Gifford and her husband, Quentin, of Ohio, and Johanna Eubanks; daughters in law; Jeannette Lee, of Wells, ME, and Betty Lee, with whom she resided; several nieces and nephews, including, Kevin, Brian, and Dennis Curtin, of California, thirteen grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren

ARRANGEMENTS: Friends and relatives are respectfully invited to call on Friday evening, November 16, from 6 until 8:00 PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. (Rte 125) Haverhill. Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday morning at 10:00 AM in the funeral home. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Locust Grove Cemetery, Merrimac.
