Haverhill — Helen E. (Taylor) Goodwin, 77, passed away peacefully Sunday at Penacook Place Nursing Home surrounded by her family. Born in Medford, Mass., she grew up in Groveland, Mass., and was the daughter of the late Elbridge and Eleanor Taylor.
She was previously employed with the Internal Revenue Service in Andover, Mass., and later moved to the Brookhaven, N.Y., center to accept a promotion. She retired in 1993.
She was very passionate about the theater arts and music, attending many Broadway shows and listening to music on a regular basis. As a traveler, she enjoyed many cruises and vacationing in the top hot spots of the United States and the Caribbean. The Red Sox and the New England Patriots were her favorite teams to watch and cheer on.
Her family and friends were most important in her life and she valued the opportunity to be with them. Her smile was always in the stands while attending the many activities of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, trying to never miss any of the events. She will be greatly missed by all.
She leaves behind her daughter, Sandy Wise and husband, Don, of Plaistow, N.H.; her son, Bill Goodwin of Plaistow, N.H.; her two sisters, Sandy Daniels and husband, Bob, of Groveland, Mass., and Judy McCarthy and her husband, Bob, of Ledyard, Ct.; her brother, Arbie Taylor and his girlfriend, Denise Joslin, of Bradford, Mass.; grandchildren, Keri Houle and husband, Jay, of Plaistow, N.H.; Donny Wise and fiancée, Destinee Herrera, of Plaistow, N.H., and Cindy Burke and husband, Elijah, of Merrimac, Mass.; and great-grandchildren, Makayla Sprague, Marissa Wise, Skyla Wise, Kassidee Castro, Alex Houle, Evan Houle and Sophie Burke. She also shared a special love for the many nieces and nephews in her life.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Funeral Service on Wednesday, April 10, at 11 a.m. at the Groveland Congregational Church, 8 King St., Groveland. Interment will be in the Riverview Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday (TODAY) from 5 to 8 p.m. at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill.
