G. Ruth (Cox) Richardson

Bradford — G. Ruth (Cox) Richardson, 87, of Bradford, died Thursday, June 27, at her home surrounded by family.

She was born in St. John, New Brunswick, Canada, on December 15, 1925, and was the daughter of the late Gerald H. & M. Winifred (Green) Cox. Ruth lived in Toronto before moving to Haverhill in 1959, graduating from St. John High School, Class of 1942, and then attended Northern Essex Community College. For many years, she was employed as a secretary and bookkeeper at Glynn Memorial Nursing Home. Prior to this, she was employed at the IRS. Ruth was a member of Sacred Hearts Church and enjoyed knitting, bridge, traveling with family, and visits with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews, as well as friends who gave her so much joy.

She was predeceased by her husband, the late J. Arthur Covey, and was the sister of the late Marjorie McCarthy and Barbara Ring. Her survivors include her children R. Leo Richardson of Kennebunk, Maine, Kevin G. Richardson of Plattsburg, N.Y., Timothy J. Richardson and his fiancé, Dawn of Kingston, Mass., Jeffrey P. Richardson of Methuen, Kathleen E. Welch of Haverhill, Jean R. LoPizzo and her husband, John of Atkinson, N.H.; brother, Charles R. Cox of Lake Utopia, Canada;12 grandchildren; one great-grandson, Noah; and several nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral on Tuesday, July 2, at 10 a.m., from the H.L. Farmer & Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 So. Main St., Bradford, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m., at Sacred Hearts Church, Bradford. Interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery, Bradford. Calling hours at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Bradford Funeral Home will be on Monday from 4 to 8 pm.
