Haverhill — Robert J. Bresnahan, 73, of Haverhill passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Penacook Place in Haverhill.
He was born in Haverhill on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24, 1938, son of the late Maurice and Helen (Ring) Bresnahan. Bob attended Haverhill Public Schools and the Haverhill Trade School. Bob had many hobbies and enjoyed drawing, painting and silk screening.
Bob proudly served in the U.S. Navy on the US Allegheny, ATA 179, from 1956-1960. He was employed at the former Brentwood Furniture as a fabric cutter for over 25 years; he later was employed at Penacook Place in Haverhill as a kitchen supervisor. He made many friends at both places.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Elizabeth A. (Walsh) Bresnahan, Robert J. Bresnahan, Jr. of Haverhill, Kathleen Steele of Danville, N.H., Doreen Bresnahan of Amesbury, Christine and her husband Ret. CSM Gary Bronson of Evans, Ga., and Karen Bresnahan of Haverhill; sister, Maureen Daly; brothers, Richard and Maurice Bresnahan; five grandchildren, Sgt. Jeremy Steele and his wife, Yuri, Sean Steele, Aisling Steele, Gwendolyn Bronson and Alicia Bronson; a great-grandson, Aiden Steele; sister-in-law, Johanna Johnstone; and lifelong friends, Raymond White, Barbara Courtney and Nicholas Daly, as well as nine nephews and two nieces.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Penacook Place for the care and kindness they provided to Bob during his brief illness.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday, Nov. 23 at 5:30 p.m. at St. James Church, 185 Winter St, Haverhill. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Haverhill and Bradford.
