Faye R. (DeMatteo) Burdett


Haverhill — Faye R. (DeMatteo) Burdett, age 90, lifelong Haverhill resident, died Tuesday morning, November 20, 2012 at The Oxford Nursing Home in Haverhill, with her loving family by her side. She was the wife of the late Gary Eafalla and the late William E. “Ed” Burdett, Jr. who died in 2008.

Born in Haverhill, November 16, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Bernardino and Antoinette (Gallechio) DeMatteo and was a graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1940.

Faye had worked at the Worcester Paper Box Company in Haverhill as well as Styltek, Inc in Bradford and was a longtime member of the DAV Auxiliary of Haverhill. She enjoyed listening to music, dancing and reading.

She leaves behind her family, whom she loved very dearly, daughters, Marie LaFleur and husband, Kenneth, and Laura Edwards all of Haverhill; three grandchildren, Paul Edwards and wife, Kim of Vermont, Eric LaFleur, Michele Ambra and husband Sam all of Haverhill; six great-grandchildren, Meaghan, Paul, Jr., Peter, Claudia, Gretchen and Eric, Jr.; two brothers, John and Robert DeMatteo; three sisters, Mary Migliori, Delores Bird and Laureen Feole and husband Gabe, along with several generations of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Anthony and James DeMatteo. She will be truly missed by them all.

ARRANGEMENTS: An hour of visitation will be held Saturday, November 24, 2012 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Paul C. Rogers Family-Scatamacchia Funeral Home, 334 Main Street, Haverhill, immediately followed by a funeral mass at 11 a.m. at All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue Avenue with interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Haverhill. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
