Haverhill — Alexis A. Sawyer “Lexi”, 17, of Bradford, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, December 2, 2012.
Lexi was born in Newburyport and is the cherished daughter of Brian M. and Linda Joy Sawyer, loving twin sister to Sabrina, big sister to Krista, and endearing niece to Mark A. Sawyer. Lexi is also survived by devoted maternal grandmother Mary Hensley and paternal grandfather Neil Sawyer. She was preceded in death by her grandfather Daniel Hensley. She also leaves behind many, many great friends.
She was attending her senior year at Whittier Regional. An honor student, Lexi was studying early childhood education. Growing up in Bradford, she attended Bradford Elementary and Hunking School. She was employed at Ski Bradford.
Lexi was inspirational to many. She was a vivacious, kind, polite, young lady who displayed courage, grace and dignity. Lexi excelled at everything she set out to do in her brief life. She was a captain of the track team and broke many school track records. She was involved in cheerleading competitions, played many sports including basketball, soccer, volleyball, softball, skiing, snowboarding and was an avid equestrian and horseback riding champion. She loved her world champion horse, Jagger.
She was generous and selfless and volunteered to help at the Special Olympics, Cradles to Crayons, and SPCA along with other great causes. She always wanted to help others and give back. She made friends everywhere she went and will be dearly missed by all.
She will always be remembered for her kindness, generosity and the ability to make each person she was around feel special.
ARRANGEMENTS: Arrangements are under the direction of the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. (Rte 125) Haverhill, and services will be announced at a later date.
