Lawrence "Larry" Hodes, 84


Haverhill, MA — Lawrence “Larry” Hodes, 84 of Haverhill, formerly of Andover, died Wednesday, April 3, at Massachusetts General Hospital. Mr. Hodes was a native of New Haven, Conn. He was a graduate of Lowell Technological Institute and served in the Navy during the Korean War era. He was employed for over 30 years in North Andover at Western Electric and its subsequent successors. He was active in Bnai Brith, having been President in Matawan, N.J., and North Shore Council of MA. He was an active member of Temple Emanuel, Andover; most especially the Social Action Committee. For many years he helped deliver meals to Bread and Roses food pantry.

Larry is survived by his wife Toby (Koffman) Hodes; his children Karen Hodes, Melissa and her husband Jay Friedenberg and Bonnie Hodes. His extended family also includes Harold Sisken, Joan Kalin, Estelle Goldin and Barbara Natrillo.

ARRANGEMENTS: Services will be held at Temple Emanuel, 7 Haggetts Pond Rd., Andover, on Friday April 5 at 2:30 p.m. Interment at Temple Emanuel Cemetery in Lawrence. Condolence calls may be made at his late residence following the burial until sundown, continuing Saturday evening 7 to 9 p.m., and Sunday 1 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be donated to Temple Emanuel.
