Bradford — Joseph W. “Bill” Dennis, 88, of Bradford died Thursday, March 28, 2013, at the Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill.
He was born in Worcester, Nov. 17, 1924, son of the late Joseph W. and Gladys R. (Knapp) Dennis.
Educated in the Worcester school system, Mr. Dennis served in the Army Air Force during World War II. He earned an Asiatic Pacific Campaign Theater Campaign Ribbon, American Theater Campaign Ribbon, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and Victory Medal.
Bill owned and operated the family store, Potvin Furniture Store, and later was employed as a salesman for Paine Furniture, Boston.
His survivors include his wife of 32 years, Theresa R. (Amodio) Dennis of Bradford, his children, William Dennis, DMD and his wife Lois of College Park, Pa., Patricia Tomlinson of Ariz., Diane Nelson of Ft. Myers, Fla., Geraldine A. Viens and her husband Richard A. Viens, Jr., of Bradford, seven grandchildren, Holly, Nancy, Jennifer, Jeffrey, Richard III, Dawn and Amy. Mr. Dennis was the father-in-law of the late Dr. Jeffrey Nielson who died in 2012.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his Memorial Service on Saturday morning, April 6, at 10:30 in Sacred Hearts Church, S. Main St., Bradford. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Haverhill. Arrangements are by the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Haverhill & Bradford.
