Newton, N.H. — Marion Louise (Ilsley) Short, age 83, died peacefully at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill on Saturday morning, April 6, 2013. She was the beloved wife of the late Albert G. Short, Jr., who died April 7, 1987.
Born in Newburyport, April 27, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Dalton Ilsley and Edna L. (Marvin) Ilsley.
Marion was dedicated to her family. From her children, to her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren, she was always there to take care of their needs. Her love was unconditional and her pride in their accomplishments never went without mention.
She was a faithful member of the First Congregational Church of Kingston, New Hampshire.
Her survivors include her two children, Albert G. “Bud” Short, III and wife, Candice, of Salisbury, and Deborah Darling, of Newton, N.H.; her grandchildren, Al Short and wife. Christy, and their sons, Shane, Cole and Aidan, and their grandson, Braxton, all of Barrington, N.H.; Daniel Gagnon and wife, Lori, of Newton, NH; Jason Carignan, of Costa Rica; and Aaron Carignan and wife, Beth, and their son, Miles, of Gettysburg, Pa.; her sister, Winifred Smith, of Houston, Mo.; along with several generations of nieces and nephews and many dear friends. She was predeceased by her daughter, Diana L. “Tina” Gagnon, who died June 12, 1992.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service in celebration of her life on Friday, April 19, 2013, at 11 a.m., at the First Congregational Church, 6 Church Street, Kingston, N.H. By request of the family, there will be no visiting hours and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Merrimack Valley Hospice House, 360 North Ave., Haverhill, MA, 01830. Arrangements are made by Paul C.
