Bradford — M. Rita (Trottier) Walker, 90, a lifelong resident of Bradford, passed away on Monday, September 30, at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen.
She was born in Haverhill on January 7, 1923, to the late Leo F. and M. Alma (Gaudet) Trottier. Rita was educated in the Haverhill School System, and graduated Haverhill High School, Class of 1940. She attended the Massachusetts General Hospital School of Nursing, and graduated in 1945.
For many years, Mrs. Walker worked at the former Hale Hospital as a registered nurse, and later was employed as a private nurse. She has been a member of the American Red Cross since 1944, a member of the MGH Nurses Association, Haverhill Nurses Association, the Haverhill Boys Club Auxiliary, a member and treasurer of the 1940 Haverhill High School Class Reunion Committee, and a lifelong member of Sacred Hearts Church.
She was the wife of the late Donald L. “Buck” Walker, and is survived by a daughter, Sharon M. and her husband, E. Jerome Bernheimer of Orange County, Calif.; a son, Jeffrey P. Walker and his wife, Sharon L. of Sandy, Utah; a sister, M. Juliet Clennon of Alabaster, Ala.; three grandchildren, Brian J. Walker and his wife, Shalayre, of Kearns, Utah., and Melissa A. Walker-Clark and her husband, Steven, of Lafayette, Colo., Joanna Bernheimer of Los Angeles; and three great-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews
Mrs. Walker was predeceased by her brothers, L. Norman Trottier and C. Philip Trottier and his wife, Eleanor; two sisters, Irene E. and her husband, Francis Cahill, and Dorothy E. and her husband, Raymond Perrault; and a brother-in-law, Gordon Clennon.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Friday October 4, at 11 a.m., in Sacred Hearts Church, Bradford. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be held at H.L.
