Kenneth G. Michelmore, 95


Methuen — Kenneth G. Michelmore, 95, of Methuen, died on Monday, September 30, 2013, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Michelmore was born and raised in Lawrence and was a 1935 graduate of Lawrence High School and a 1942 graduate of Bentley College. He served with The US Coast Guard during WWII with The 7th Fleet. Ken worked at The American Woolen Mills, Lawrence and was a member of Laborers Union, Local 175, Lawrence. He was a member of The Elks Lodge, #1708, Marblehead, MA, as well as a member of The Lawrence Lodge of Elks and Philanthropic Lodge, AF&AM of Marblehead. He was a member of Methuen VFW Post 8349 and Methuen American Legion Post 122. He was also a member of The Bavarian Club, The Rocky Club and The Arlington Club, all of Lawrence, and was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, Lawrence. Mr. Michelmore also managed several country clubs in the area and owned and operated Carriage House Catering and worked as a custodian for The Methuen Public Schools.

The widower of Charlotte A. Michelmore, his family members include his niece with whom he lived, Wendy DeFillippo and his nephew, James DeFillippo. He also leaves his niece, Suzanne Nicolosi of Methuen and his sister-in-law, Jackie Underwood as well as several other nieces, nephews and cousins.

ARRANGEMENTS: Calling hours will be on Sunday, October 6, 2013, from 4 to 7 p.m. at The Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. Funeral services will be on Monday, October 7 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to The MSPCA, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.
