North Andover, MA — Anthony Forgetta Jr. died on Monday October 14, 2013, at the Lawrence General Hospital. Born in North Andover, he was the son of the late Antonio and Pasqualina Forgetta. He grew up working on the family farm.
In 1950, he graduated from Johnson High School in North Andover, and received his bachelor’s degree from Boston College, Class of 1954. He was a high school French teacher in Haverhill, Hull and North Andover. He left teaching to help with the operation of The Forgetta Farm. Among his friends were people he met through the farm stand business. Anthony enjoyed music. His favorite recording artist was Perry Como. He was also a sports enthusiast who rooted for the Red Sox. He was fond of his faithful dogs, especially his last dog, Bono.
Anthony is survived by his sister, Esther; and his brother, Eligio, with whom he lived; and his brothers, Arthur and his wife, Mildred, and Daniel and his wife, Joanne, all of North Andover. All of his nieces and nephews were very dear to him.
He was predeceased by his sister, Natalie; and his brother, Bartholomew.
The family is grateful to his niece, Pristine, for driving Anthony to many of his medical appointments and participating in the consultations.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, at 11:30 a.m., at St. Michael Church in North Andover. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, from 9 to 11 a.m., prior to the Mass at the Conte Funeral Home, 17 Third Street, North Andover.
