Bradford — Gustave “Gus” Basque, Jr., 64 of Bradford died Wednesday, Oct. 16, at the Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill.
He was born in Haverhill, June 22, 1949, son of the late Gustave and M. Rita (Perry) Basque.
Educated in St. James Grammar School, Gus graduated from Haverhill Trade School, Class of 1967.
He earned his licenses as an Electrician, Power Plant Operator, and also Third Engineer and Sprinkler System Installer.
For over 15 years he was employed at the former Hale Hospital as an electrician and Power Plant Operator/Chief Engineer and, more recently, for Nestle Prepared Foods in Haverhill as an electrician.
Gus was an Eagle Scout and was a military hobbyist enthusiast.
His survivors include his wife of 42 years, Kathleen (Lowes) Basque of Bradford; a daughter, Melanie and her husband, John Muller, of Massapequa, N.Y.; a sister, Roberta and her husband, John W. Conte, of Haverhill; a brother, Charles E. and his wife, Maria Basque, of Haverhill; a granddaughter, Jazmyne Elly Muller; two nieces, Tara Salvi and Nicole Caulkin; two nephews, John Conte Jr. and Justin Basque; his mother-in-law, Eleanor F. Lowes of Haverhill; a brother-in-law, William H. and his wife, Ruth Lowes; and two sisters-in-law, Mary Ellen and Victoria A. Lowes, all of Bradford.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his Funeral on Tuesday morning, October 22, at 10 a.m. from the H.L. Farmer & Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 So. Main St., Bradford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. James Church, Haverhill. Burial will be in Maplewood North Parish Cemetery, Plaistow, NH.
