Marblehead, MA — James Walter Christopher, 86 years, of Marblehead, MA, died October 12, 2013, at the Grosvenor Park Nursing Home in Salem, MA following a period of declining health.
James was born March 24, 1927, a son of Clifford and Katherine Christopher, Sr., growing up in Belmont, MA. He graduated from MIT with a BS in electrical engineering and from BU with his MBA. He worked for many years for Western Electric in North Andover, MA.
He married Dorothy Parsons of Kennebunkport, ME in 1952 and they celebrated life together until her death in 2011. Together they raised their 2 children, teaching important lessons and appreciation for many outdoor activities.
James enjoyed sailing, skiing and swimming. He was a member of the Sandy Bay Yacht Club and was a medal-winning swimmer with the Andover/North Andover YMCA Masters Swim Team.
James is lovingly remembered by his son, Eric Christopher and his wife, Micki, of Alpharetta, GA along with their children, Caitlin Christopher of Eugene, OR and Ryan Christopher of Salt Lake City, UT; his daughter, Carol Arnold of Marblehead, MA; and many nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: A service was held on Saturday, October 26, at 10 a.m. at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer Street, Kennebunk, ME. Father Tom Murphy from Holy Spirit Parish officiated. Interment followed in Home Cemetery in Lower Village, Kennebunk.
