Lawrence — Rene Martineau, 89, of Lawrence, died on Monday, October 28, 2013.
Mr. Martineau worked at Avco/ Textron for 20 years previous to his retirement.
Born and educated in Lawrence, he lived in the city all of his life.
He served with the Army Air Corp during WWII. He was a gunner on a B17, flying out of England and completing all of his assigned missions.
The father of Susan Martineau Brown who died in 2007, he leaves his wife of 63 years, Frances (Walsh) Martineau of Lawrence; his son, Joseph and his wife, Kimberly, of Salem, N.H.; daughter, M. Lucy of Huntersville, N.C. Rene is also survived by his two brothers, Raymond of Windham, N.H., and Paul and his wife, Evelyn, of Andover, Mass. He leaves one granddaughter, Connor Brown of Meredith, N.H.; and many nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Calling hours will be on Sunday, November 3, 2013, from 4 to 7 p.m. at The Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. A Funeral Mass will be on Monday, November 4 at 10:15 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, St. Theresa Church, 22 Plymouth St., Methuen. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Andover.
