Hooksett, NH — Harry J. Korslund, Jr., 85, passed away at his home on October 29, 2013. Born and raised in Norwood MA, the son of Harry J. and Irene Korslund, he was a resident of Hooksett NH for 50 years. He was a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and Purdue University. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.
He was a member of the Hooksett Congregational Church where he served on various boards and committees and during the 1970s was a fixture at the Church’s annual Street Fair, serving up tasty chicken from the barbecue pit.
He leaves his son, Harry J. Korslund, III and his wife, Mary, of Windham NH; his daughter, Karoline D. Korslund and her husband, Daniel Boisclair, of Amherst MA; and his son, Peter W. Korslund and his wife, Elizabeth, of Lafayette, CO. In addition, he leaves his 8 grandchildren, Laura Korslund of Cambridge, MA; Gregory H. Korslund of Houston, TX; Leanna and Benjamin Boisclair of Amherst, MA; Erin and Kara Korslund of Peabody, MA; and Gretchen and Leif Korslund of Lafayette, CO; a niece and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Eleonore, in 2006; his parents; and his brother, Benjamin. ARRANGEMENTS: A memorial service will be held Friday, November 8, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the Hooksett Congregational Church, 5 Veterans Drive, Hooksett, NH 03106.
