Lawrence — Doris (Roy) Proulx, 89, of Worcester, formerly of South Lawrence, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 20, 3013, at Notre Dame Long Term Care Center, Worcester. She was born in Lawrence, and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rena (Bourque) Roy, and the widow of Raoul Proulx.
Doris was raised and educated in Lawrence, and was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School. Doris was a lifelong parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church. She worked for Western Electric as an assembler, and retired in the 1970s. Raising her six children was her life, and she enjoyed long day trips with family.
She is survived by her six children, Donna Mulcahy and her husband, Daniel, of Worcester, Linda Baker of Silver Spring, Md., Sandra Boscketti and her husband, Carl, of Portsmouth, N.H., Mary Champagne and her husband, David, of Amherst, N.H., John Proulx and his wife, Karen, of Derry, N.H., and David Proulx and his wife, Barbara, of Nashua, N.H.; 11 adoring grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; her sisters, Arlene Roy of Methuen, and Rena SanAntonio of Lawrence; and her brother, Leonce Roy of Lawrence; and many nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visiting hours on Friday, December 27, from 9 to 10 a.m., at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen. Her Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11 a.m., at St. Patrick’s Church, 118 South Broadway, Lawrence. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, North Andover.
