Charles J. Piro, 57

Methuen — Charles J. Piro, 57, of Methuen, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at his home. He was born in Lawrence, and was the son of the late Vito and Josephine (Zappala) Piro. Charlie grew up on Oak Street in Lawrence, and was a graduate of Holy Rosary Grammar School and Tenney High School, Class of 1974. He enjoyed playing bass guitar and music in general, and attended Berklee College of Music in Boston.

Charlie was involved with his brothers at the family business, Piro’s Bakery in Methuen. He was a loving brother, uncle and friend, and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Charlie is survived by his brothers, Joseph Piro and Paul Piro, Anthony Piro and his wife, Nina, and their children, Josephine, Vito and Stephen, all of Methuen; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, December 26, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen. His Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, December 27, at 10:30 a.m., at Corpus Christi Parish in Holy Rosary Church, 35 Essex Street, Lawrence. Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence.
