Lawrence, MA. — Laurina R. (Garon) Kanan, 88, a resident of Lawrence, MA, passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at the Mary Immaculate Nursing Center in Lawrence.
Born in Manchester, NH, and educated in New Hampshire, Laurina had worked as a Stitcher at the William Barry Company for many years.
The daughter of the late Napoleon and Lydia (Isabelle) Garon, and the widow of Ernest W. Kanan, members of Laurina's family include:
a daughter: Rita Hileman of Florida, a son: Richard Kanan of Barrington, NH, a brother: Robert Garon and his wife Nancy of Rochester, NH, as well as 12 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 13 great great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was also survived by a special granddaughter-in-law and caregiver. Laurina was predeceased by her daughter: Ernestine Jimenez, as well as by her siblings: Arthur Garon, Eva Rose Fanny, Valeda Wong, Theresa Dubois, Florence Garon, Pauline Sciacca, and Edward Garon.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 12:00 noon in St. Anthony Maronite Catholic Church, 145 Amesbury St., Lawrence, MA. Burial will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery in Methuen, MA.
