Rose Womble, 73

Lowell — Rose M. (Scharn) Womble, of Lowell, died unexpectedly on Friday, October 26, 2012, at Lowell General Hospital, aged 73 years. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles T. Womble who died in 1998.

She was born in Lawrence, September 16, 1939, a daughter of the late Frederick and Dagmar (Wilson) Scharn. She received her early education in the Billerica school system and was a graduate of Howe High School in Billerica with the Class of 1957.

Rose met Charles in 1958 while they were both very involved with the Salvation Army. They married on May 21, 1960, and settled in Lowell to raise their family.

For many years, Rose worked at the former Silicon Transistor Corporation (STC) in Chelmsford as an assembler, until her retirement ten years ago.

Rose enjoyed reading, crocheting, puzzles, socializing with friends, and the company of her constant companion, her faithful dog `Harley´. Most of all, she treasured time spent with her family, especially her two grandsons.

Mrs. Womble was a kind hearted, thoughtful person, a devoted mother and grandmother, and a loyal friend, who will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and quick wit.

She is survived by a daughter, Debra Brunelle and her husband David, and two grandsons, Bryan Brunelle and Kevin Brunelle, all of Lowell; a sister, Mary Hentz of Billerica; three brothers, Harold Scharn and his wife Pixie of Lawrence, Robert Scharn and his wife Billie Alice of Haverhill, and Frank Pohl and his wife Hannah of the state of Washington; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Also, a dear friend of 55 years, Carolyn Howell of Florida. She was the sister of the late Frederick Scharn and Raymond Scharn, and sister-in-law of the late Robert Hentz.

ARRANGEMENTS: Friends will be received at the Morse-Bayliss Funeral Home, 122 Princeton Blvd., Lowell, on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Mrs. Womble’s funeral service to be held at the funeral home on Friday at 10 a.m..
