North Andover — M. Ruth (Gaudes) Pelletier, 89, of North Andover, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 16, 2014, at Prescott House Nursing Home. She was born in Lawrence, and was the daughter of the late Edward and Frieda (Flessa) Gaudes, and the widow of Joseph “Gerry” Pelletier. Ruth was raised and educated in Lawrence, and was a 1942 graduate of Lawrence High School.
Ruth was devoted to her husband and her family, and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her special joy. She enjoyed all social events hosted by her large family. Ruth had many friends, and her friendships at Sutton Pond were especially dear to her. She was a loyal Red Sox fan, a great cook and a tireless shopper. She touched many lives, and made a difference in her quiet and simple manner, and she was Nana to many.
Ruth is survived by her daughters, Joanne Nadeau and her husband, Stephen, of Hampton, N.H., Elaine Sullivan and her husband, Thomas, of Methuen, and Carolyn Pelletier of Lawrence; sons, Robert G. Pelletier and his wife, Linda, of Andover, and William J. Pelletier and his wife, Marie, of Saugus; her cousin, Flora Gaudes of No. Andover; her 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, January 21, from 3 to 7 p.m., at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. Her Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, January 22, at 10 a.m., at St. Michael’s Church, 196 Main St., North Andover. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Andover.
