Salem, NH — Agnes F. (Keter) Najem, 89, of Salem, N.H., passed away peacefully on Friday, January 24, at her home at Greystone Farm, with her family by her side. Born in Lowell, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Saab) Keter.
Mrs. Najem was raised and educated in Lowell. She was a member of St. George Orthodox Church in Lawrence, where she had been active in the Ladies Guild. She worked for the Lawrence School System for 17 years. She enjoyed dancing, dining, sewing, bingo, traveling with family, senior center outings, and trips to Foxwoods. She found the greatest pleasure in large family gatherings with all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren by her side. She will be deeply missed.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Arthur “Artie” Najem and her siblings, Wadea, Rose, Ruth, Alice, Guy, Thomas, Michael, and John.
Mrs. Najem is survived by her sons, Tom Najem and his wife, Linda, of Windham, N.H., and Ken Najem and his wife, Cindy, of Derry, N.H.; her daughters, Paula Senia of Salem, Judy Timko and her husband, Mike, of Andover, Mass., Donna Avakoff and her husband, Ed, of Burlingame, Calif., and Peg Sinewitz and her husband, Gary, of Hudson, Mass. She also leaves 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, January 29, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Thursday, January 30, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the United Lebanese Cemetery, Lawrence.
