Tuftonboro, NH — Dennis Currier, 75, of Center Tuftonboro, N.H., formerly of North Andover, died on Sunday, at Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro, N.H.
Dennis was born in Haverhill Mass., on August 12,1938, to the late Stanley and Janice (King) Currier.
He was a graduate of North Andover High School and served as a North Andover firefighter for 28 years, until his retirement. He was past president of the North Andover Firefighter's Union Local 2035, and served as acting Chief for nearly two years during his tenure. Dennis was a U.S. veteran, having served in the U.S. Marines.
Dennis was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting and fishing, and won the coveted 2011 Lake Winnipesaukee Fishing Tournament. Dennis was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge in Wolfeboro, N.H.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Paradis) Currier of Center Tuftonboro; his three sons, Michael Currier and his wife, Andrea, of Methuen, Brian Currier and his wife, Lynne, of Methuen, and James Currier and his wife, Yolanda, of Bridgeton, Maine; his 12 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Dennis was predeceased by his brother, Alan Bruce Currier.
ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral Mass will be offered on Thursday, at 10 a.m., at St. Michael's Church in North Andover. Burial will follow in Ridgewood Cemetery, also in North Andover.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Conte Funeral Home, 17 Third Street, North Andover.
