Methuen — Concetta D. (Montalto) Bella, 92, of Methuen, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 23, 2013, at Methuen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, surrounded by her family. She was born in Lawrence, and was the daughter of the late Rosario and Josephine (Petralia) Montalto. Concetta was educated in Lawrence grammar schools and was a graduate of Amesbury High School in 1939. She worked for 30 years for Western Electric in the human resources department.
Concetta loved being a mother to her two children and especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She was an excellent cook and baked often, and enjoyed sewing. She also enjoyed playing the piano, and danced in the local area with the Jo Bridges Dance Group of Newburyport, which also included her late sister, Mrs. Angie Chick.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Methuen Health and Rehabilitation Center for their wonderful care.
Concetta is survived by her son, Joseph G. Bella, and daughter, Angela M. Bella, both of Methuen; and many nieces and nephews and cousins. Concetta was predeceased by her three sisters and four brothers.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visiting hours on Tuesday, November 26, from 3 to 7 p.m., at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen. Her funeral service will take place on Wednesday, November 27, at 10 a.m., at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence.
