WINDHAM, N.H. — Alice F. Samia, 88, of Windham, N.H., died yesterday, Aug. 24, 2010 at The Grace House of Windham, N.H.
Mrs. Samia was born and educated in Lawrence. The daughter of the late Martha and Rizellah Jacobs, she was a graduate of Lawrence High School. She worked for many years at Western Electric in North Andover and retired in 1981. Mrs. Samia was an active member of St. George Orthodox Church of Lawrence, and St. George's Ladies Guild. She was also a member of the Pioneers of AT&T. Mrs. Samia was well-known for her Lebanese cooking and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. Her home was always open to all and she never hesitated in helping anyone who was in need.
She was married to her husband, the late Ferris Samia, for 48 years. She is survived by her daughters: Patricia, wife of Paul Curley of Norfolk; Pamela, wife of Jack Manganiello of Belmont; and Deborah, wife of Jack Welch of Windham, N.H.; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: A celebration of her life in funeral service will be held Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010 at 10 a.m. at St. George Orthodox Church, Lawrence. Burial will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery, Methuen. Friends may call tomorrow, Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Farrah Funeral Home, 133 Lawrence St., Lawrence.
