David A. Cairns, 66

North Andover — David A. Cairns, 66, of North Andover, died Tuesday, March 19,2013, at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen.

David was born in Lawrence, on August 5,1946 to the late, Andrew and Margaret (Miller)Cairns. He attended North Andover schools and graduated from North Andover High School. David served in the National Guard. He was most recently employed as a machinist with Bolton Emerson Americas in Lawrence until his retirement. Prior to that, David was employed at General Electric in Lynn.

He is survived by his sister, Margaret Smith and husband, W.Richard Smith of North Andover; his nephew, David Smith and his wife, Kathleen of Alpharetta Ga.; and his niece, Carrie Fatalo and her husband, Michael of Methuen. Also among David's survivors are his great niece and nephews, Brooke and Bennett Smith and Andrew Fatalo as well as several cousins.

ARRANGEMENTS: A private family graveside service will be held at Ridgewood Cemetery in North Andover. Donations in David's memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framigham, MA 01701.
