Leslie J. Dondero


Newbury, Plum Island — Leslie J. Dondero, 48, formerly of Haverhill, passed away on November 7, 2012 at Lahey Clinic in Burlington.

Born in Haverhill on May 25, 1964, she was the daughter of Barbara M. (Upson) Dondero and the late Thomas L. Dondero.

Leslie graduated from Haverhill High School, Class of 1983 where she was a member of the track and field team, and during that time she established a state shot put record that stood for twelve years. Leslie was an established painting contractor catering to families in the North Shore, and was garnered the respect of other professionals in the field for the quality of her work. Her artistic talents allowed Leslie to develop as a sculptor specializing in large pieces using wire, sea glass and other objects she found interesting. She was a member of the Newburyport Art Association, and was entered in many shows in Newburyport, Boston and New York. Her love and devotion was centered on her family and close friends, and she will be remembered for always having a bright smile.

Besides her mother Leslie is survived by her brothers, Thomas A. Dondero, Richard M. Dondero and his wife Charlene, David C. Dondero and his wife Ellen, Paul A. Dondero and his wife Margaret; sisters, Linda Perkins and husband Clifton, Joyce Donovan and husband Neil, Christine (Tina) Cianfrocca, and several nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main Street, Haverhill. Calling hours Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Interment at Elmwood Cemetery. Leslie’s family would like to express their thanks for the excellent care and expressions of kindness extended by the staff at Merrimack Valley Hospital and Lahey Clinic.
