Deerfield, NH — Barbara Thomas Boyd, 60, of Deerfield, N.H., died June 5, 2013, at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester.
She was born on August 6, 1952, in Glen Cove, N.Y., the daughter of the late James Leslie and Dorothy Handel (Thomas) Boyd. She graduated from Friends Academy High School in New York. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from Simmons College.
Barbara was a Consumer Science Teacher at Alvirne High School in Hudson for over twenty years.
She was a member of the Appalachian Mountain Club. As an avid outdoors enthusiast, Barbara loved cross country skiing, hiking and kayaking. Barbara also had a great love of music.
She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Guilmet of Blairstown, N.J.; longtime companion, Jim MacEachern of Deerfield, N.H.; and her siblings, Jim, Ed and Marcia Boyd.
Barbara was predeceased by her daughter, Christine Guilmet.
ARRANGEMENTS: A celebration of her life will be celebrated on Sunday, June 9, at 3 p.m. in the Gymnasium at Alvirne High School, 200 Derry Road, Hudson, N.H.
