Methuen, MA — John A. “Al” Kenyon, 86, of Methuen, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 14, at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House, Haverhill, after a long illness. John was the son of the late John and Mary Ann Kenyon. He was a life-long resident of Methuen and graduated from Methuen High School. John served in the US Navy and graduated from Northeastern University. He was employed as a plant superintendent for Bolton Emerson, Inc. of Lawrence. John was a communicant of St. Monica’s Parish in Methuen.
His interests and hobbies include his love for his family, golfing, bowling, summers at Lake Winnipesaukee, travel and occasional trips to Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun. John was a member of the International Order of Odd Fellows, Loyal Washington Lodge. John served on the Methuen High School reunion committee.
Members of his family include his loving wife of 63 years, Mildred D. (Howe) Kenyon; two daughters, Patricia and her husband, Robert McQuinn, of Salem, N.H.; Norma and her husband, Richard Bursaw, of Derry, N.H.; two grandchildren, Pamela and her husband, Jonathan Mannion, and Colleen McQuinn and her fiancé, Jeffrey Carr; and his sister, Kay Markey.
ARRANGEMENTS: Calling hours will be on Thursday, April 18, 2013, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Monica’s Church, 212 Lawrence St., Methuen, on Friday, April 19 at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen, Mass.
