Haverhill, MA — Shirley E. (Webster) Hoyt, 80, lifelong Haverhill resident, passed peacefully on Tuesday afternoon, at The Oxford in Haverhill. She was the beloved wife of the late Clifton L. Hoyt, who died in 1984.
Born in Haverhill on August 25, 1933, she was one of five children of the late Herbert M. and Hazel P. (Trofatter) Webster. She was a graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1952.
Shirley loved doing jigsaw puzzles and word search puzzles, keeping her mind sharp and focused. Having been a resident at The Oxford for the past 13 years, she looked forward to the various activities scheduled every day.
The family would like to extend their sincerest thanks to the entire staff at The Oxford for all the loving care and kindness they gave Shirley over the years. It was truly appreciated.
Shirley is survived by her two daughters, Linda Siebe of Texas, and Lucille Klein of Salem, N.H.; her son, David Hoyt of Merrimac; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her sister, Marion L. Mansur of Haverhill; several nieces and nephews; and her dear friend, Robert Davis of Haverhill and his family. She was predeceased by her son, Clifton L. Hoyt Jr.; her brother, Robert M. Webster; and her sisters, Dorothy E. Webster and Helen A. Webster.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours at Paul C. Rogers-Scatamacchia Funeral Home, 334 Main Street, Haverhill, will be on Thursday, from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services at the funeral home will be on Friday, at 11 a.m., followed by interment in Walnut Cemetery, Haverhill.
