Andover, Lawrence — Claire T. (Berthiaume) Vaillancourt, 85, of Andover, formerly of Lawrence, passed away peacefully on Thursday April 24, 2014 at the Academy Manor Nursing Center. Claire was born and educated in Lawrence and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary-Anne (Arsenault) Berthiaume, and the widow of Wilfred Vaillancourt.
Claire was employed at Western Electric and also spent many happy years working at Prospect Hill Fish & Chips. She was well-known for her cooking for family and friends and also lover dancing, bingo and puzzles. But most of all her family was the center of her life.
She is survived by her children: a daughter, Linda A. LaChance and her husband, Thomas of North Andover; her son, Richard Vaillancourt and his wife, Tamara Pikilik of Windham, N.H.; her three grandchildren, Lisa Vaillancourt, Michael Vaillancourt, and Valentina Pikulik. She also leaves her siblings: a sister, Lorraine Keyes of East Hampstead, N.H.; and a brother, Robert Berthiaume and his wife, Geraldine of Pelham, N.H., and several nieces and nephews.
The family would also like to express their heart felt gratitude to the nurses and staff of the Academy Manor for their loving care towards Claire during her stay.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visiting hours on Sunday, April 27, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. Her funeral services will take place on Monday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home and burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen.
